Can everyone get together in this town and agree to blow that piece of shit venue sky high and rebuild it? i have been there several times now where, at a packed show i couldn't see shit. so i had to stand by the bar and watch it on tv. WTF. who spends that kind of money on a venue where 80% of the people there can't fucking see???
and what is with that bar upstairs where if you have a line of more than 3 people traffic comes to a god damn stand still?? and that "no standing" line?? what a cluster fuck of a design. my friend works security there and absolutely hates that upstairs.. where he constantly he has to tell people to move along. you've got hundreds of people crowded along a railing with 200 empty seats in front of them... jesus.
you can complain about the newport, but i have never had a problem seeing the stage there or getting a beer.
and it's little brother, the basement.. i've had the same problem before seeing the stage.
i kind of want to go see the lemonheads but if i have to deal with the same shit, i ain't goin.

i'm never going to an inside show at the LC again. that's for fuck sure.

The outside venue is great; the inside is hands down one of the worst places to see a show unless it's only about half full.

the basement is easily the worst venue in columbus.

the LC (inside) is a close second for the reasons truthed upon.

went to the newport last night and had no problems seeing Yonder Mountain and I'm only 5'8

I wholeheartedly agree. I'll never go to an indoor show there again. Unfortunately, I'm even reluctant to buy tickets for an outdoor show. The worst show I experienced there was when an outdoor show was moved inside just for the heat index. They put seats on the floor and General Admission had to cram into the aisle behind.
I still like the Newport, but hate to even support the company.

I you haven't seen it yet, the new A&R Music Bar set up is fricken awesome. I did a show at Basement/A&RMB on Monday. I bet by the summer all the big Basement stuff will be upstairs. They moved the stage, added a back stage area, got the PA squared away, got that crazy echo taken care of. It's good.
