I thought Walt would come back too, but then I realized that once they "tested" him or whatever and determined he wasn't the "one" or whatever, they let him go..It doesn't explain what his powers are, or were, but I let it go once I figured out that they let him go first.

yeah, walt was the one mystery the internets were demanding that i couldn't have care less about. he had powers, but so did lots of people who weren't "the one" (like miles) and once he'd been tested and shown to not be "the one" he was alloed to leave. no mystery, no interest.

aaron's original "specialness" was that being born on the island, he might've been the new "the one" but it tunrs out he wasn't that brand of special. it also might have simply been that he was "special" simply as a tool to cross kate's name off the list? and again, either way, so not a mystery that i really needed answered by the end.

but i've read a LOT of comics and seen a LOT of anime, and this ending was no more or less obtuse/frustrating than a shitton of other pop media (like neon genesis evangelion or the sopranos)

a more LOST-logical solution to the walt issue (at least to me) is that it was all part of smokey's long con. especially give what we know about how little the others were in touch with jacob and how little direction they got from jacob. so smokey convinces them to take walt, michael goes nutso kills libby and ana lucia, blows up the freighter, etc. etc. it was all part of the 1,000 year plan

i take that back, i've softened up a little bit, and while seasons 5 and 6 really didn't do it for me, i think that was mostly due to their rushed nature. at some point in there was a "let's get this over with" moment. i also felt like there was a lot of smoke and mirrors in the last two seasons and a lot of stuff that just doesn't make sense to me, but hey, i'm willing to let it go and move on because after all, i loved the shit out of this show. i'll put it up there with 6 feet under and twin peaks.

Here's hoping they don't ruin it in 25 years by making a stupid remake.

I wouldn't mind seeing a spin off or two like what happened the years where MiB was living with the the well diggers or the story of who takes over after Hurly or early Dharma years when Ben Miles and Charlotte were kids.

Why was Sayid all like "I've found the love of my life again" when he met Shannon in purgatory? I thought Nadia was his girl. They spent 4 seasons using Nadia as his motivation for everything, including him getting all dark, but in the last 20 min of the series he sees Shannon and is, like, re-united with his lost love. The fuck was that?

I thought the plane was, like, 1,000 miles off course and headed back to Fiji or something when they crashed on the island. In sideways universe, they flew over the island then 5 min later landed at LAX. I get that the sideways universe was religious magic or whatever but why, then, show the island at the bottom of the ocean at all?

The big edge of the cliff battle between Jack and Evil John was hilarious, especially the jumping punch. It was almost meta. Like, "Here's a big fight scene"

That "heart of the island is the light in the heart of everyman" was an insane cop out. Geothermal electromagnets are the light in the heart of everyman? Is that what they were saying? From the Jacob backstory episode on, they pretty much gave up on explaining anything.

Anybody remember the last episodes of Star Trek TNG? I'm gonna go watch those again.
