And for those on the slower side, the OH in OH Columbus is OHIO.

... cause it implies the wonder and sudden astonishment when one realizes that it's COLUMBUS that we're talking about. The other option just doesn't do it for me.

Some recommended alternatives:
"Oh. columbus." (the disaffected teen take)
"Oh! Columbus!" (the "Oh! Calcutta!" homage)
"Ol' Colum'us" (Zanesville old-school)
"Oi! Columbus." (Buckeye Ska - )
