I like Jack and Bennys. We took the kids there during the snow storm and it was a big hit.

I like Jack and Benny's too, but it doesn't meet most of the criteria:

Looking for places that know how to cook eggs the way you want them without overcooking, use real eggs in omelets, real hash browns or home fries (not perfect sized cubes from a box), and good coffee.

The eggs aren't real, at least. I do particularly love it when they have rasberry pancakes.

If they're boxed eggs, they are usually in fact real eggs, just pre-cracked and more or less mixed to save kitchen labor. Sometimes they are pasteurized to cut down on salmonella for use in things like Caesar dressing.

Can I interest you in some dessert? :)

yeah, with unpossibles on this one…i won't recommend jack and benny's for any reason (nor will i lie and say i've never been there or that i've had a horrible time), but fake eggs are not really all that easy to find and are only good for baking and stuff. eggs in a box(/carton) are just egg whites or, um, eggs in a box(/carton).

jack and benny's serves little shitty steel cans of orange juice with pulltabs. that is their major faux pas, in my book, but perhaps someone thinks that is awesome.

Dan's Diner is mighty fine. But Chef-O-Nette is crazy cheap, and kind of, well, crazy.

and is one of the only places i've been to that has an extensive menu but doesn't make a bunch of frozen/half-assed crappe. you can tell they care about their recipes and preparation.

I have not been to a breakfast place other the GV Coffee House in a long time.

Please is so good, I love to order an english muffin with my 2 eggs, have them toss a piece of cheese on it and then I have a egg sammich, toss on on of the amazingly good sausage patties and I am a happy boy. Add some hash browns and a pancake and its after breakfast happy nap time.

hash browns are weird there though. they have egg in em. it's tasty, but greasy as fuck and a little gross.

the egg trick is what separates good hashbrowns from mediocre ones.

Yes. Hash browns are THE essential item at GV. With cheese and onions, duh.
