i can't believe we're coming up on our 5th birthday! i know it's 8 months away, but can't wait to party in the parking lot again!

Yes, we at the CMC are SOOOO excited. And so very honored to have such amazing support of Columbus music giants like (NBT, Scrawl and the Gibbies) that believe in the CMC's cause. We feel very lucky to have them on-board this year.

Remember, the PLBO is not just our favorite rock'n'roll party of the summer, it's the CMC's annual fundraiser and proceeds go into our CMAP fund for local musicians who are experiencing health-related financial hardship. This is for dentist visits, glasses, co-pays, hospital bills, catastrophic needs, etc. All you have to do is start a conversation with us via columbusmusiccoop@gmail.com and we'll see what we can do for you.

In a year when healthcare and healthcare reform has been a largely debated topic and economic times have been hard for everyone, we are excited to think of the increased good the CMC will be able to do for Columbus musicians after this year's event, with your support. We are thrilled to be able to say we've been serving the Columbus music community for 5 years now, and look forward to even more growth and expanding services and support this year!

Several hours of calls and emails since last December between Don, Ellen, Dan, Jeff, and myself to get to this point. Monsieur Jeff is the reluctant sort, and wasn't having any of it up until about three weeks ago when (former Memphis-ite) Alex Chilton passed away (due, in some part, to a lack of health insurance. .). Whether it was a sudden tinge of mortality, or he was tired of harassing phone calls from Columbus and Asheville, he relented. Very happy many folks will get to see them play, even if only once.

+1 high fiver for the Pale Rider too.

Probably won't be available by the Blow-Out (due to long lead-times), but look for the original line-up Gibson Bros releases via Old 3C in the download world, as a complement to CDRs sure-to-be-awesome vinyl reissue. Way to go CMC folks for booking such a freaking great line-up this year.
