Please save the date for the 4th annual Here Comes Your Weekend Parking Lot Blowout, July 11th, 2009 in the Surly Girl Saloon Parking Lot. As always, the event will be free with music, drinks and fun, with all alcohol sales benefiting the Columbus Music Co-op's Columbus Musicians' Assistance Program!

this event is 100% volunteer run! we need people to pour beer and drinks, check ids, act as security, grill hot dogs and lots o' other stuff. this year we are going to have 2 hour shifts for the first time ever too!
and every volunteer receives a thank you goodie bag from the columbus music co-op with free drink tickets, gift certificates and other fun stuff!

last year's parking lot blowout has already funded over $7,000 in grants to musicians without health insurance!! hoping to double that number this year!

the opening starts at 7 but bands won't start to later

so YES!

when does parking lot blow out end?

last blowout band normally goes on at 9:45i-10.

music will either start at 2 or 3 this year...we'll know soon!

VOLUNTEER INFO!

For the first time ever we are going to have 2 and 4 hour shifts (instead of just 4 hour shifts!)

Here are the shift times (with set up and tear down being a little different)

9 a.m.-12 p.m. SET UP
12-2 p.m.
2-4 p.m.
4-6 p.m.
6-8 p.m.
8-10 p.m.
10 p.m.-12 a.m.
11 p.m.-2 a.m. TEAR DOWN (we have finished around 12:30 a.m. the last two years)

We have the following areas available:
Front gate
Bar (you must be 21 or over to work our bar)
Food
CMC Info Tent
Security
Floaters

Volunteers will receive food and drink tickets and goodie bags with thank you gifts from the CMC and our event sponsors. You can sign up for a 2 or 4 hour slot.

which times and areas you are interested in.
(if you feel very strongly about working in a specific slot, email early, as we fill up early!)

We are finalizing the band set times and such and we hope to announce this week (if you are waiting on band times to decide when you volunteer)

And-if you have already emailed the CMC I will be sending out emails confirming your shift and time later this week so no need to re-email!

When: Saturday, July 11, 2009 - 1 p.m. - midnight
Where: Surly Girl Saloon parking lot (1126 N. High St. -- between Goody Boy and Mary Katherine’s Antiques)
What: Music, Beer, Food and Fun all day long in the Garden District!
Why: To raise money for the Columbus Musician's Assistance Program (CMAP) for local musician’s experiencing health-related financial hardship!

yes. if you are a night owl or like to work after the sun goes down, we definitely need lots more help in the 8 p.m.-1 a.m. range. however, i do have some slots open during every shift (except the 2-4 range)

DEERHEAD!

Deerhead will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. We love their classic/southern rock vibe! I wanted to hype them today because they are playing a show at The Shelf tonight (after Red White and Boom!)
