Just a note- I'm pretty sure the BYOB thing as stated on the main page applies to those shows like Moviola, that are after store hours. Not positive, but maybe it's worth asking before y'all unnecessarily warm up a few PBR tall boys.

edit- just looked at Anyway's post. Looks like he knows what he's talking about. I'll shut it.

I saw...uh...some band there a few weeks ago, they were actually really damn good.

But i suppose this post is pointless since I can't remember the *curse word* name.

Man i love to curse on the internet...[/i]

That would have been the Impossible Shapes from Bloomington who were great, in an Incredible String Band / Strapping Fieldhands kind of way.

Yeah, I was in there when the Impossible Shapes were playing. Pretty good stuff. Sort of Kinks meets Pavement. I thought it was great having bands in there.

Last minute addition:

Oakland, California psych-folk-garage newbies, The Gris Gris, will play at Used Kids at 4 pm on Wednesday, 3.31. They're at Little Brothers later in the evening w/the Modey Lemon and Apes

• more on the Gris Gris, which is basically Greg Ashley backed by two members of the Cuts here

• from the Birdman site: "A solo acid-folk album from Oakland (by way of Houston) psych burner, former MIRRORS and current GRIS GRIS member GREG ASHLEY. Ten hypnotizing mind-altering, dark, and fuzzy tracks about love, love and death, love and war, and Technicolor love scorched in the spirit of Roky Erickson, Syd Barrett, Mayo Thompson, and post-axe wielding Skip Spence."

If you all don't stop turning me on to all this wonderful new music, how am I supposed to save enough money for food? I mean really, too much freaking good music is never a bad thing, but how am I supposed to keep up? Damn I like having this problem.

Moviola does kick quite alot of ass...

As reported the Used Kids site did get a once over by yours truly. With plans for more in-stores you can check the site regularly for info on any forthcoming events. New Releases and Top Sellers will also be updated weekly.

Also, obviously some of the sections of the site are still being fleshed-out, but I'd love any feedback and/or any suggestions for things you'd like to see that aren't already a part of the design.

See you Friday night for Moviola!!

When you say the store closes at 8, does that mean that we can't do any CD shopping after 8?
