I have it on vinyl. The day it came out was also the day Chocolate & Cheese came out. I couldn't afford both, so I bought C&C on CD. One of the dumbest things I've ever done. That was also the last new REM record I ever bought.

When we were making that cover last night (this is what happens when drummers don't show up to band practice), we totally hatched a plan to start a Monster-only store. All we need to do is scour the dollar bins of every store around and there it is: inventory. Dusty came up with the name: R E M O N S T O R E.

i told jason w that you need to have them on sale for $15.99, but also have a .99 cent bin full of them and the process of discounting certain copies is completely arbitrary.

John & Sam: As much as I'm willing to admit my mistake, I still like Monster, at least enough to not want to sell it. However, I would be willing to trade it for a vinyl copy of either Out Of Time or Chronic Town.

No trick. It's a done deal. Monster may be a better record (its not) and it may be worth more than Chronic Town (it probably is), but Chronic Town is worth more to me. I will trade it. If I ever get nostalgic enough to want to hear Monster, I can always scour the dollar bin at any record store. That shitty tremelo guitar is going to sound like a shitty tremelo guitar either way. IT'S A DONE DEAL, SAM.
