Well next weekend, Saturday April 18th is National Record Store Day.

Stores all across the country will be having sales and doing cool events.

I am not sure what the other stores in town are doing. (I think Used Kids will have bands all day, like the did last year. I think I heard that TV Eye is one of the bands playing at Used Kids). I do know that Lost Weekend will be having a HUGE sale, with a better % OFF than our usual sales. We will also have some limited edition Record Store Day exclusive releases and some cool FREE stuff for give-a-ways that day.

In the next Few Days I will reveal the full sale detail at Lost Weekend Records for Record Store Day.

Perhaps someone else will post here what Used Kids, Mags, etc.. are doing for this special day.

I think Buyback's 161 will have the best drrruggggggs. I plan on coppin', ordering borscht from the Russian restaurant and hanging out in the Hobo Pizza parking lot. Look for me. I'll be dressed like a undercover cop blasting an Internal Bleeding tape. Bring chips. It's a potluck.

Ok, so here are the details for the sale that Lost Weekend Records is having on Record Store Day, no bands or DJs just a very big ONE DAY only SALE:

All USED LPs will be 33% off

All USED 45rpms records will be 45% off

All 78rpms records ONLY 78 cents each

All NEW LPs & CDs will be 10% off*
* excluding limited edition Record Store Day releases

everything else in the store (used Cds, used dvds, t-shirts, books, comics etc..) will be 20% off.

Lost Weekend will also have cool record store day give-away items while supplies last including such items as Cd and Lp samplers some 7" records (I know one is a Kings of Leon single), Beastie Boys turntable mats, Beatles numbered lithographs, and other stuff plus we will be bringing out the free Herb Albert records.

We will have several of the limited edition Record Store Day releases (the only things not on sale that day):

Some of these we only have 1 or 2 copies of and others we will have more including a live Pavement Lp from 1988, 7" singles from, The Smiths, Slayer, Akron Familiy, MC5, Stooges, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Bad Religion, Bruce Springsteen, Sonic Youth w/ Jay Retard and a cool split with Flaming Lips and The Black Keys. Plus the full latest full length album from Jorma Kaukonen "River Of Time" on Red House Records only 1,000 pressed and they were pressed in town at Mus-I-Col. There is also a double 10" record from My Morning Jacket and a 10" record from Ben Harper also a live Derek Trucks cd. There may be some others but that is all I can think of right now.

And yes we do have the sign up cards for the Sonic Youth "buy now get early" promotion.

The limited edition releases will be sold on a first come first serve basis and we are not holding anything for anyone, so please don't ask.

Lost Weekend will open at 11am on Saturday and we will be staying open and extra hour until 8pm instead of our usual close time of 7pm.

Thanks for making yesterday's Record Store Day a record breaking day, we had our best sales day ever in the 6 year history of Lost Weekend Records.


I know that some of you could not make it out yesterday so I decided that we will extend the sale prices for one more day, i.e today.


Most of the exclusive record store day releases have been sold
(actually everything except a Ben Harper 10" and some Akron Family 7" records) but we still have tons of killer USED Lps and since yesterday was so great we will let you pick them up for the same sale price we had yesterday.
