A good reason to skip Karaoke.

Bo (or Beau), the bearded keyboard player from Baak Gwai is a stand up dude. He bartends at Egan's in Tuscaloosa, and when we played a warehouse show down there at the start of the month, he hooked us up with free draft beers at Egan's in the afternoon just because we were on the road, pure class. I don't think he's going on this tour for some personal reason, but hopefully his character speaks for the rest of the band as well. The record happens to be really great too, poppy and mathy in a Les Savy Fav, Mr. Bungle, At The Drive In kind of way.

baak gwai's singer beat me in an arm wrestling match, but i'm pretty sure i'd tear him up in indian leg wrestling.

maybe tonight in dayton i can test that theory when they play at the pearl.

Really fun show, except my ears are still bleeding - Kyle Sowashes - I am looking at you. Lost Revival was kind enough to give me a cd, two spins already and you should all believe the hype.

if anybody's interested, baak gwai are playing friday night at roc bar in cleveland.

i can't say enough awesome things about this band.
