Glad to see Gatto's getting the 5-pie rating.

Smoking Joe's needs serious consideration...and you both know it.

You should review Flyers Pizza on the westside. Corner of Norton and Hall. And you should review Cumby's.

yep. amazing. they "serve" water in sketchy old rubbermaid thingies like you're going camping.

no-bullshit service, no bullshit pie.
also, just across the street (delivery only) bexley pizza plus' sausage/mushroom slays. finely ground sausage, with just a hint of sweetness.

that's a tasty blog there.

I fully endorse this thread.

I had Zamarellis pizza recently. We were down in Grove City recording and all the local Grove Citians told us that we had to have Zamarellis. It was the best pizza in Columbus. And for people whose Stringtown Road exit contains 95% food places. I was ready to try it. Yeah, not that impressed. Maybe it was just me. Maybe it was the pizza. Try it yourself and see.

Also had Massey's Pizza off 161 / Dublin-Granville. Another "supposed" award winning pizza. Ok. Tasy. But not worth the price. Reminded me a lot of like Donatos. What else is on your list coming up?

Check out the Gumby's review. I hope it doesn't come off as too negative.

All pizza is Pizza and pizza is always good.

pizza plus actually moved NEXT to rubino's. i've never thought pizza plus was anything special. rubino's is awesome though, but i recommend getting extra cheese and a well-done bake for maximum pleasure. it's hot as shit inside there right now.

If you are taking suggestions:

Enrico's Pizza
5788 Frantz Rd
Dublin, OH
(614) 766-6900
Don't let the strip mall location fool you. The entire family, including the grandma, work there every day.

I also had pizza at a place called Emelio's in Hilliard on Main Street a few years ago that was awesome. No frills, no bs, just great pizza, but I can't find any info online or in the phone book, so maybe they closed.

Iacono's pizza is good too, they have 4 locations around Columbus.

What about that new joint on Northwest in Grandview / Arlington (across the street from Kroger and Blockbuster)? I think it's called Marono's. I hear it's really good pizza pie.

Not too bad. I have only had it once. I like that it seems family run and operated.

Grandview's best though, Rotolos. Hands down.

not a huge fan. I like it all right, but to me it seems mostly like a beefier Papa Johns.

my friend and i sat at his house for 3 hours listening to 610 WTVN waiting for them to play the rotolo's jingle so we could tape it. they never did, so we just ended up going there. i thought it was okay, but nothing special.

Favorites due to location: Tommy's Pizza and Planks (sp?)

also actually love Minuteman Pizza

places that should not serve pizza: Dominos, Pizza Hut, Gumbys

Perhaps its a matter of taste but i cannot stand these pizzas. Would prefer a frozen pie in place of any of these.

The thing I like about his pizza blog, as well as this thread, that it shows, no matter where you live in Columbus (or almost anywhere), you can get good pizza without visiting one of the horrid chains that sell what passes for pizza.
