The last I saw Noel was where and how I knew and understood him best, on stage and through his music. He truly was a kind soul to those with whom he came into contact. The blow from the suddenness and proximity to so many of us leaves me grasping for words and wanting to never take for granted time spent with anyone near and dear. My heart goes out to those closest to Noel. Please don't hesitate to ask for help of any kind needed.

touched by all of your good words.

Below is information on how to attend Noel's memorial service and how
to make a donation to ease some of the financial burden associated
with his accident.

The service takes place this Saturday July 12th at the first
Presbyterian Church in Huntington, WV. There will be visitations
between 12-2pm, followed by a service.

remaining money, and money earned in the future, will be used to set
up a music scholarship at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in Noel's
name.

Checks can be made to "Noel Sayre Memorial Fund" and sent to:

I remember asking if I could touch his hair because it was AMAZING. I remember standing outside a house party that PMM played and we looked down to see we were standing on some flattened cardboard and without a word... we began to breakdance. I remember him playing violin, climbing over the theater seats at Studio 35, rare form Noel in effect. I remember being bent over in stitches when he played madeity-up songs on guitar for hours. I remember crying in the bathtub when I heard the Black Swans album. I remember missing him when he went to WVa to take care of his dad... for like... forever. I just remember laughing and sweetness.

I went to elementary school with Noel and the music teacher asked him to bring in his violin and play it for the class. He did and of course he played so well even at a young age. FFWD many years later.... my wife arranged for a violinist to play at our wedding. I never asked her who it was but on the day of our wedding there was Noel. Seeing him, and just as impactful hearing his music, immediately brought me back to that day in music class over 20 years ago. Noel touched more people than he may have ever realized.

I know all that hold Noel close to them really appreciate everyone's kind words. Thank you.

We are going to be holding a Memorial for Noel here in Columbus, OH. The details are posted below. The date is far enough away that I hope everyone has time to make arrangements to make the occasion. The specifics are not yet all worked out yet. I'll post more details as they become available. We hope if you have had a connection to Noel, musical or other, over the years and were not able to make the services, that you would come out and share your memories of Noel with us.

Memorial for Noel Sayre
Thursday August 7th, 8-11pm
Surly Girl Saloon (Parlor/back-room)

More details tba.
