i was SO happy when the randys played as our tent is right near the gazebo...it was a nice break from the horrible cover bands and uber-funky bass lines....

Comfest smelled more like cigarettes than in years past.

The fish boat was the worst thing I digested all weekend.

It amazes me how rude people are at Comfest.

The salsa tent was my highlight.

I had more fun serving beer for people than I did watching any of the bands.

Actually, Christian Howes at the Solar tent was damn cool.

certainly missed more than I saw, which wasn't the original plan. But as with any Comfest, the best plan is NO plan - just wing it and move with the sun or wind...or rain.

I got there early on Friday and caught Woosley and 1.3. Then headed home to really prepare for the weekend. I got back later than I wanted to, stpped at the Short North and pounded a couple of shots and made over at 8pm. 8pm was the cluster-fuck in the Schedule, as I wanted to see Happy, 2 Cow and The Razers. I planned on catching all 3 and recording a bit of all of them, but Happy was getting on a roll so I stayed at the Gazebo the entire set. The 100 proof Smirnoff was going down fast. Smoked a joint while heading to the Bozo for the Floorwalkers. Started recording the Floorwalkers set when I decided they weren't really ready for the Main Stage, so we took some shrooms and continiued watching. And then the lunacy set in. Unfortunately, when you are carrying as much "fun stuff" as I was on this night, I have the patience of Kieth Moon and was doing everything in my arsenal all at once.

It was at the moment that I decided my little portable recorded look a lot more like an electric razor, so as people cut in front of me, I would rub it up the back of the neck and hair. They immediately clutched the back of their head, turn around and see me grinning with the "razor" in my hand and start bitching at me for trying to shave their head - all the while with the recorder on. Some were ready to kick my ass. I must have recorded 30 different people threatening to kill me. I'll try to get these posted at some point - I haven't even listened to everything yet. I know the conversation with our taxi driver is a riot, after I tried to shave his head too.

I know we ended up at the treehouse for a bit, but this was no place for us in this condition. Took a taxi to an after hours where more lunacy continued. Left there about 5 and then had a night cap at my attorney's houe that lasted until 8am.

I was so tired and hung over I for the rest of the fest and the mud made hard to get around I really didn't take in much for the rest of the weekend, even though I was there. Saturday night there wasn't anyone I really wanted to see so I opted for dry land at the Jazz stage and watched Tony Monaco kill.

Went to the Treehouse again on Saturday to catch 2 Cow since I missed their Comfest set. Got a great recording of the show. These kids just own it. Micah has star power in spades. Best thing I saw all weekend.

Fried Cheese on a Stick? Fuck yeah - it's fried..and it's cheese. They're so good I just wanted to shove the sharp stick it came on right in my eye when I was done.

i was definitely "cheesing" during Paul's Los Caminos solos. i've known that dude for years but never really heard him play serious guitar until yesterday. he is a genius.

duffy, that el jesus 7" will be one of the best things you ever buy. they did that shit on a 4-track, lickety-split. insane. the best el jeezy recording to me b/c you can hear every member (especially tony) clearly.

I went. I worked during the week, didn't mind getting soaked during the day Saturday and I had no gigs Friday and Saturday nights to worry about. I was in of town on Sunday so I went. Not my first time.

My first frustration was parking, so I took a taxi. There was a total lack of signs because signs would not help or make organized traffic. I jay walked in front of moving cars (only been taxi'ing for 1 year and walked right out in front of many moving cars), it was the only way to cross the street.

Essentially, people were enjoying themselves.

I made his way to Comfest, met up with friends, heard some awesome amateurish crap but never really made my way to the jazz stage to listen to Pete Mills and Tony Monaco kick all kinds of ass. Ultimately I had a good time. Saw many boobs. Smoked dope. Drank alot. Ignored the obnoxious drunks and stoners, after I partied with them. Had a good time and didnt tell my dad what I did.

Great G. Worms set, happy to start my weekend with them. Brainbow was sweet, 1st time finally, and the Lindsay of course kicked some ass, can we get another album or something? A world tour?
