"birdsong" gives me such a rush...like i'm falling off a cliff or something...

i was reading about the little ipecac dolls on pitchfork the other day...pretty cute indeed...

I love this album, their show at the Newport with the Melvins was great. On a related note, i just found out 2 days ago that they released a new album recently. Gotta find it.

One of the best shows ever. BA Baracus will tell you different. He really hates Patton, haha. But even I thought that the Patton haters would've loved that show.

Their first effort was brilliant. I cannot wait to hear the new record.

the melvins and skeleton key were good

im listening to every time i die - the big dirty and the 1st bronx cd

i've always thought patton was interesting...i know he's not for everyone though...

the new record is called anonymous. it's based on old native american music written by unknowns, hence the title. i'm interested in hearing more of it, but i'm obsessed with mit gas right now.

how long ago was that tomahawk/melvins show?

i've mentioned a couple of times on this board that stanier is my favoritest drummer, but i hadn't heard a lot of tomahawk till recently. it is rocking my face off.

Patton haters are really Mr. Bungle haters. How can you hate Faith No More? You can't. How can you deny the awesome power of Tomahawk? You can't. How can you hate Mr Bungle? Now that is VERY EASY to do. I, personally, can't stand it, drives me up a wall. But, Mike Patton is much more than that (thankfully).

i LOVED faith no more's first album INTRODUCE YOURSELF. i hated everything they did once patton replaced chuck mosley. FNM, tomahawk, and bungle all can suck my balls. that's some of the most unlistenable shit this side of rush, pantera, or ween.

Have you even listened to Mit Gas? Granted, they have the bass player from the Melvins in it, but it's more like a futuristic Melvins than Mr Bungle.

Here. Listen to these 2 songs and tell me what you think.

agreed all around.

i've been a patton fan since the real thing's release. "epic" and "falling to pieces" were some of my favorite songs at that time. but mr. bungle...i just can't take it...

I can see that. Did you hate what Faith No More were doing musically with Patton, or just Patton? Because I love their music side regardless of who is singing. I also liked Chuck. They did change stylistically when Patton joined. But every album was different. They kept getting a little more mainstream with each one, but still remained slightly underground and had a nice cult following.

BTW, for all Patton fans.....I HATED the solo release he had kind of recently. I did not dig it at all. It was as though Patton was doing a parody of himself. Now, gimme two Bungle albums (the first one and California), all the Tomahawk stuff, and all of Faith No More's stuff.

If someone told me that they hated Patton with only one listen (with that probably being Epic), I'd tell 'em to get the Tomahawk stuff. The music is just KILLER.

To answer a question that was posted earlier, the show that we're talking about with Tomahawk and the Melvins was in May of 2003.

The Spores' latest CD "Doom Pop." It just came out
through SideCho records and the physical copy is only available on
sidecho.com. They are a band full of heavy baselines, beautiful vocals and a huge electronic burst that really defines an awesome album. They just shared stages with Eagles of Death Metal and are on tour right now.
Check em out!

It's pretty bad ass.

I can never get the chorus of "Truth, Rest your head" out of my brain. I found some pretty "cool" Gene videos on youtube yesterday. They're worth checking out if you're a fan.

Im currently listening to this new female artist, Rose Rossi. She's kind of a blend between Gwen Stefani of old No Doubt and Tori Amos. You can check her out on myspace, my favorite song by her is "Fade"

I'm looking for kind of a blend between Glen Campbell and Tori Spelling. Any recommendations?
