Sad to say, it's not an exciting story.
You've all seen the movie Animal House, I'm sure. Well, when I was a freshman in college a friend (actually, Mike who is now in Caviar) and I were out with some frat guys letting them buy us beer and they said we need nicknames. (Sometimes art does imitate life, huh?)
Anyway, they named him something like "Cotangent" because he said he was a math or physics major--something like that. They named me "Otter." My name stuck. I used to get people giving me little otter postcards and ceramic trinkets. Even my mom gave me a stuffed toy otter, which resides under a dust coat on top of my computer monitor at home. 10+ years later I still have people who introduce me as that, which drives me nuts.
I am sure the whole otterco thing doesn't help that but oh well.
And I thought for sure the Press saw a press release. Very very odd. Cool though. I will definitely keep you posted on anythign that happens with that.
