This is the suck part of phpbb. You have to manually change your profile to get the right time, if you're logged in.

So click profile and change the time to:

GMT - 5

That is if you're east coast. If you're anywhere else, I dunno what the fuck to do.

Mr. Duffy,

I know I am a ditz, but today I had to change my profile to GMT - 4? I am easily confused, but I thought I should bring this matter to your attention.

Respectfully yours,

This will help forum users from the USA figure out the GMT setting:

http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/usa/index.htm

In case you don't feel like reading:

GMT-5 Eastern Standard Time
GMT-4 Eastern Daylight Time

GMT-6 Central Standard Time
GMT-5 Central Daylight Time

GMT-7 Mountain Standard Time
GMT-6 Mountain Daylight Time

GMT-8 Pacific Standard Time
GMT-7 Pacific Daylight Time

GMT-9 Alaska (does not observe Daylight Saving Time)
GMT-10 Hawaii (does not observe Daylight Saving Time)

Certain areas of Indiana and Arizona also do not observe Daylight Saving Time.

As I learned the hard way, it's a good idea to keep your identity private and to be cautious when meeting people from message boards. That wacky person on the message board might just turn out to be batshit crazy.

I was just trying to be helpful and point to a link about Greenwich Mean Time.

The Washington Beach thread was getting boring.

I'm all set to GMT-4 for DST. Daylight Saving Time is stupid.

It's pretty funny that we actually change the clock. Why can't the farmers just start their day an hour later?

You're just in a different part of the city than the message board.

Hell. Why can't I just start my day later? I'm going to tell my boss I might be running late in the mornings cuz I've got to tend to the cows...

I had to change my time zone to get the correct time to show up, and now my board preferences say that I'm in the Atlantic time zone even though I'm in Eastern. This is unacceptable. I demand to speak with your supervisor.

You don't have to change the time zone anymore, all you have to do is select yes for the "Summer Time/DST is in effect:" option.

That sounds complicated. This product was supposed to be easy to use. Why do I have to check anything at all?

P.S.: The above are small examples of how tech support has deepened my hatred for human beings.
