pro: don't have to pander to the late local news-watching crowd (read: old people with no sense of humor).

con: head to head competition with stewart & colbert.

pro: cable shows can be edgier. cue "the masturbating _______."

con: your audience lead-in is a re-run of the office or family guy.

In the era of the internet and DVR, I think going head to head against Stewart and Colbert is not much of a con. I'll be DVRing both because I'm usually at band practice during that time anyway.

I think that Conan is the best at the format, but isn't that like saying Moonlight Drive is the best Doors coverband?

He's funny, but in the end do we really want to see interviews with Tom Hanks or one of the girls from Glee?
