see, that's the problem there: all region, but PAL, not NTSC. this has nothing to do with regions (which are another variety of bullshit entirely). PAL & NTSC have to do with the way colors are interlaced for presentation on television monitors, and the US is NTSC where australia and the UK (for example) are PAL.
were it 1989 and had you bought a VHS, you'd be up the creek. but nowadays, yeah, you could certainly try watching it on yer computer (VLC player plays most anything, even TS and VOB files, i think). or if yer not into that maybe try going into yer dvd player's menus and seeing if you can switch formats (i kinda doubt it, but you could google around and see what yer player will or won't do). there are players out there that handle all regions and both PAL & NTSC without any special manipulation. philips is a good company for this. usually at target. less than ninety bucks.
