i just can't get over the basic idea that some many major events in Jack Bauer's life fit so neatly in a 24 hour period of time. seldom in one's life do events of such great import repeatedly occur within the same amount of time. the whole idea just makes no sense. |

I’ve never watched this show but for the longest time when I heard people talking about it I thought that each season was supposed to be the next consecutive 24 hours. By the time season 4ish came around I was sure this was the most ridiculous show ever…talk about implausible. |

I watched the whole run of it. The first season had at least the appearance of effort to seem authentic, but successive seasons became less meticulous until the gimmick was little more than a brand, which I think was plenty enough. The characters and twists were sustainable without the "real-time" claim, but it did allow them to do a lot of (probably unintentionally) humorous shot-calling, like "the bombs will go off in ___ minutes." |
