AGREE.

Like why jacob needs to scratch names into the ceiling of a rock cave instead of just writing them down (or weaving an elaborate tapestry)

The only thing awesomer to me than Laughing Jack is Scared Richard :!: :!: :!: :!: . Almost lost it when UnLocke yelled "Don't tell me what I can't do!"

I still like Hurley alot, and feel he is really important in all of this somehow, though I am not sure how he fits into the scheme of it all. I like non-paranoid lotto-winning Hurley alot because he's such a nice guy who is willing to help anybody that needs it.

I am also resorting to this. I am really banking on someone from this board to piece it all together and then to explain on a 5th grade comprehension level so I can understand.

And who is the woman that helps to bury Locke's body? I forget how she came about.

Don't get me wrong. I'm still processing the big picture; I'm just not going to look too carefully at the Easter-Eggy clues like the biblical references. There're many people out there who're better at it than me, and it'll be fun to start on the Lostipedia-level analysis after the series is over.

Ilana looks to be the leader of the "military arm" of Jacob's disciples. She first presented herself as a bounty hunter or marshall, who apprehended Sayid and was escorting him on the 2nd plane.

I liked the note on david's music sheets about picking up the pace. hopefully this thing will really start steamrolling now.

I knew claire would axe the guy but my girlfriend was surprised. I don't know how you can be surprised that someone who makes a model of their baby out of bones is bat-shit crazy.

good episode i thought although the adam/eve thing felt like pandering to the fans and it's silly that jack/hurley wouldn't even look to see what name was #108 on the dial to find out who is supposedly coming.

For that matter, what happened differently that caused Jack to need an appendectomy when he was young instead of when Juliet did it? What did it mean that he seemed to notice the scar for the first time?

They totally got me too. Smokey must've Rousseau'd the hell out of her. At least we have a better idea now of what "infection" does and that The Others are being truthful.

One of them still might. It might also be worth noting that 108 = 4+8+15+16+23+42.

Are they scratched off because he's made contact with them? Perhaps the positions on the dial show him a location, Jacob gets a name, hunts them down, makes physical contact, says something ominous, returns and scratches off the name.

that wouldn't really make sense because most of the UN-scratched off names are the people we know he has made contact with.

I would assume the easiest guess so far would be they're all candidates and the scratched off ones were not successful or are no longer candidates for some reason.

Are you talking about names on the wheel or the ceiling? I was watching it live, so I didn't see if any on the wheel were still unscratched. It's very curious that someone that's already been eliminated would be headed there.

I believe some of the names on the wheel were unscratched.

I don't know what the fact that 108 was scratched off means. I have to assume desmond was a candidate at one point and maybe when he left the island he got crossed off but now he's coming back?

I assume desmond and widmore are the 2 leading prospects for who is coming to the island. although that doesn't explain why #108 says wallace.

i think 108 (and wallace) might not have anything to do with who is coming to the island. maybe it's the writers way of telling us (108, the sum of the numbers) that the numbers themselves are insignificant and/or don't expect any more "answers" about the numbers.

from what i gathered the whole point of the lighthouse trip wasn't to actually set the beacon, but to cause jack to see his house, and have his freak-out epiphany

Maybe it's a reference to Marcellus Wallace's briefcase of unknown contents.

Or maybe Wallace is a new character that is somehow involved with all of the numbers.

It's certainly true that it was the point of bringing Jack, but the room itself seemed to be legit, and they could've just as easily not shown what 108 was.

this IS the final season, but there are a lot of episodes to go. i'm not holding my breath for answers in the first half a dozen episodes.

but if it's answers you demand, here are some examples of what they've already managed to answer so far:
Q: what happened to claire? A: she lived in the jungle and got all crazy.
Q: is crazy claire totally awesome? A: yes.
Q: does alternate reality jack have a son? A: yes.

see, they're giving us tons of answers. answers to questions we didn't care to ask.

here's what i want to know... does alternate reality jack still know where to score some oxy?

I predict that the next episode will be a 40-minute press conference with Jacob and Smokey as they leaf through the script and read off explanations.
