Bingo. People were up in arms about the reason Kate's name was crossed off. You want answers, here's an answer, sorry it's not all "You're not actually human, but an alien". Occam's razor. Simplest answer is usually the right one.

Years and years and years of theories and in the end, none of them really correct.

Completely satisfying. Completely unsatisfying.

Still a ton of unanswered questions, but all in all I enjoyed it.

I was doing fine until Vincent came bounding out of the jungle and laid down by Jack.

Back in Season Three, I said this:

Quote:
Don't believe anything the lost producers tell you!!!

maybe the 'real world' reference with the dudes in the airplane was a flashback or someone's dream or something....

I'm really not a steadfast believer in the purgatory theory - I'm open to all theories great and small - it's just the one that I like the best.

So the island itself wasn't purgatory...but the show kind of was.

so the 2 hour clip-show/wank-off/cheap-reason-to-give-you-reminders-of-shit-referenced-in-the-finale was TOTALLY worth wading thru all the dumbshit just to hear emerson talk about ben being the "most beaten" character in televsion history.

i laughed for fucking hours everytime i thought about that . . .

well, just season 6, and honestly that's an improvement.

When the curtain closes on Lost tonight, what's a Lost fan to do? Rewatch the series with new enlightenment? Drink until the mysteries make sense? Nope. You're going to turn on Rock Band.

In the near future, likely in the next few days, both Driveshaft's "You All Everybody" and Geronimo Jackon's "Dharma Lady" are going to show up on the Rock Band Network, I'm told. The songs briefly made an appearance on creators.rockband.com, but have since disappeared before their debut.

Driveshaft is the rock group of the one and only Charlie Pace, while Geronimo Jackson is a bit of a Lost in-joke. References to the 1970s band are littered throughout the series, including a poster inside John Locke's high school locker. "Dharma Lady" is actually available now on iTunes right now.

Did anyone see the "alternate endings" on Kimmel? They were great.

I didn't really care for the ending but I think that's mostly because I stopped caring what happened to these people a few seasons ago.

And basically not addressing the whole walt issue made the first half of the series feel like a waste.

i think the ALL THE SECRETS WILL BE REVEALED marketing of this season clearly was a lie, but for me i was really happy with how the finale played out. i am okay not knowing these big mysteries.

for me, it's been about the characters first. the mysteries and the crazy stuff definitely kept me interested, but i wanted to see how everything played out.

I'd give the ending, season, and series an A.

first half of series: A

second half of series: C-

overall: B+

finale: C

finale if Jack said, "i know" after kate says "i love you." (hurley already said, "i've got a bad feeling about this," so why not?): C+

finale if the Juliette/Sawyer flashback was triggered by Juliette pounding on the vending machine and saying "c'mon you son of a bitch"): B-

i think it was a little too fatalistic/nihilistic

After that line, I fully expected Locke to say he was getting too old for this shit at some point.

It was sort of fatalistic, in that it showed Jack moving from a man of science to a man of faith and accepting a.) that he had a greater purpose in life and b.) that everyone dies sometime and that death is not irreversible.

For a character with such a god complex, it was refreshing to see him finally accept that he wasn't god.

I enjoyed seeing Jack made his peace with a world that at times he seemed very unhappy with. He was by no means my favorite character on the show, but I accept that the show was all about him, and am genuinely happy that he was able to move on with a clear conscience that he did 'the right thing' in his mind. I'm happy that all these characters got to move on, and didn't end up stuck in purgatory/Sideways world. I hope Ben ties up his loose ends and gets there soon.

why did they make such a big deal about how important he was for the first 2 or 3 seasons when.....he was meaningless.

The Walt question is one I would like to have answered. Also, how was Dharma able to find, and then get on and off, the island so easily, but Penny had so much trouble? I'm willing to buy that only the people that really needed the island were able to find (ala The Light), but did Dharma really need to find it?

Also, did the show ever specifically state that Aaron was special? Other than the psychic telling Claire that he couldn't be raised by another, were there any indications that the kid was something special? Or did we all just assume that?

They resolved the Claire / Psychic issue by proving that he was a fake.

I don't care about Walt but I'd like to know what happened to Vincent.

I really almost bought a Vitamin Water today..Woulda been the first one in a minute.

Man, Jack Shephard/Matthew Fox really messed me up with that product placement on Kimmel..

Bob Newhart is still funny! That was my fav alt ending..
