I'm about to finish Dexter Season 2, and have Dune sitting on deck.

Next up: Superbad, Harold & Kumar go to Gitmo, No Country for Old Men, The Science of Sleep, and The Hulk.

After that is a combination of TV shows, old classics to rewatch (North by Northwest, Soylent Green, Manchurian Candidate, Charade, Double Indemnity, Cool Hand Luke, Last Tango in Paris, Lair of the White Worm, etc.) and some more newer movies I just have not seen yet (Gosford Park, Happenstance, Dreamgirls, etc.).

And Hell Comes to Frogtown - I suppose that's a classic, right?

i've got about 320 titles in my queue right now, and i've spent the last couple of weeks getting my "watch instantly" queue to about the same number of titles. come tuesday, the xbox360 becomes a netflix-instant-streaming box, and when that happens, i'll finally be watching all of "the office" (both brit and US)

but right now my main queue is mostly documentaries, music vids, asain action, and shit i've seen before but loved . . .

i'm actually re-watching the coen bros. stuff right now. fargo was last week, miller's crossing is tomorrow, blood simple for the weekend.

i don't think netflix has the new remastered anniversay version that came out last month, but i've been wanting to see "delicatessen" again, if you haven't seen it, it rules. same cat who did "city of lost children" . . . i know they have the original dvd of it.

if you haven't seen "may" YOU MUST!!! so creepy, so good. you know the movie's gonna be full of weird characters when crazy-brother-billy from six feet under is the SANE one in a flick . . .

"dangerous lives of alterboys" is absolutely NOTHING like i thought it would be, and then about half-way through, it becomes yet another movie altogether. i loved it.

not enough of my friends have seen "eating raoul" . . . they really should. (i love paul bartel)

both the daria "movies" are on netflix.

"american gothic" was a really fun tv show from when x-files was still new. watch it. they have it.

everyone should watch "dog day afternoon" as often as possible.

actually, almost everything on that NYC list i made for underspec is a damn-near-must-see. start there . . .

These were really good to awesome:

Billy the Kid
http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Billy_the_Kid/70073042
Dcoumentary about a teen with Asperger's--pretty touching, and at points you kinda wince and say "man this can't possibly end well," but it turns out pretty positive.

The Joy of Life
http://www.netflix.com/Movie/The_Joy_of_Life/70043806
Intimate, diary-like. May veer a little pretentious for some people.

Louisiana Story
http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Louisiana_Story/60003231
Incredible, absolutely beautiful, documentary.

Mister Lonely comes out tomorrow.
http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Mister_Lonely/70087534

I re-watched Bad Lieutenant this weekend. It's as uncompromising as I remember. Fuck Nicolas Cage.
http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Bad_Lieutenant/279488?

Following ( Christopher Nolan's first film )
http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Following/60000574

I fell asleep watching Last Tango in Paris Sat. night. Alone. Which is a pretty good illustration of my social life.

I also downloaded HD versions of Lust, Caution, Southland Tales, and Caligula. Haven't watched yet. Caligula is just fucking wrong.

They also have the first season of This American Life which is pretty great too.

looks good above... i have to second following that was awesome.

there is a low budget time travel movie called that should probably be watched twice for full effect.

a second time travel film/chick flick made by the guy who did transsiberian and session 9... is . starring marisa tomei and vincent d'onofrio .

there is a movie called "Isabelle is an ex-nun waiting for her special mission from God. In the meantime, she is making a living writing pornography..."

a war film... with ethan hawke.... ** doubles as christmas film.

if you want to get really depressed and watch an amazing film . acting is stellar.

but that's the only out of the way crap i could come up with quick that would be good to watch from a couch in the winter/alone or with someone.

oh, and if you want to start playing bingo...

D'oh! Of course it was DC. My bad. It's been a long time since I've watched it, although I have seen it often enough.

if you like spanish-magical-realism:

the devil's back bone, it's del toro. so yeah, it's really good

intacto, i love this movie. the lead is a guy named leonardo sbaraglia and he's great and most of what he's in is great. and i think that the director of this movie went on to direct 28 weeks later.
