basil haden's is so fine. my liquor store has had a sale on big bottles of knob creek all winter tho. and that lays just fine with me.

Ah, I was wondering who had the impressive collection of Knob Creek bottles... I usually prefer Maker's, or Booker's if they have it. But I've polished off many bottles of Knob Creek - in fact, so many that just the smell of it reminds me of how it tastes hours later the second time around...

I've been drinking a lot of beer the past few months, which is something new and different for me. I've really been liking everything from Bell's, which they usually have something on tap from at the Tip Top. But no one seems to ever have their pale ale on tap, and that's sad. Me likey.

underspecialization, I owe you more than you can imagine for introducing me to absinthe. Really.   :!: :?:  :?

I really like Brooklyn Summer Ale, purchased from the Dairy Family on 5th.
Sure, it probably tastes the same other places, but those guys deserve the business.

why the fuck does ice cold rainier beer taste so good? it has no business being that tasty. I don't get it, but i love it. I'm sure it has everything to do with 'being there', but still, if I had a six in the fridge right here in OH, it'd be gone by morning.

'tis true. i can't begin to explain the logistics either, but damn it was good. even better: i had my ice cold rainier at my brother in law's place which happens to be a live/work space in the old rainier brewery in georgetown...

:!:

i had so much fun...it was kinda hard to come back...

I've been drinking Nati Light. Not bad. To all the naysayers, it's WAY better than PBR. And I really like PBR. I heart beer. Nati Light is the new hip-ster beard beer.

When Earwig played Kalamazoo last fall (at a brewery), Justin & I naturally sprinted straight across the street to Bell's, where we tried almost everything they had on tap. Their Hopslam is AWFULLY tasty, and it is finally available here in town. On a day that I get decent tip$, I go to Culpepper's and pick up a six-pack. Downside: $16 after tax. Plus side: in addition to being AWFULLY tasty, it contains a whopping 10 percent alcohol. I can't even finish a six-pack, and I can put 'em away (as anyone can tell ya). I happened to be drinking the Hopslam last night when I posted some bizarre rants on this very message board. I need to put a breathalyser on this damn thing.

The Hopslam IS awesome. I love a strong hoppy beer. Also Tommyknockers Maple rules. And a bunch I can't remember the names of right now. Columbus Pale Ale is an all-time favorite though...and Bell's version.

Shiner Black Lager. Better than Sam Adam's black lager, not as much burn taste. Will have to try the Shiner bock.

In times of crisis, I always defer to Miller High Life, and it hasn't done me wrong yet. In a can, preferably. For some reason, it tastes better in a can. I'm in full-blown crisis mode right now, and this beer is currently my best friend. And last time I checked, Miller wasn't owned by some Belgian company. Not to be uber-patriotic, but still... feelin' sad for the folks in St. Louis.

I love good beer, and I love stuff that micro-breweries make, but sometimes you just can't beat a cold Miller High Life in a can. Ya feelin' me?

ohshityes. I've said these same words many times, and they've often fallen on deaf ears. Although I kind of actually prefer the miller lite in a can. It's like a big-boy seltzer. I often refer to that section of the fridge as the Utility Beers.

It's not, but it is owned by South African Breweries.
Still, the champagne of bottled (and canned?) beers.

oof. after that, this thread needs a thorough cleaning. there is no better purge for that kind of creepiness than some kitten levity. Miller Lite = 8.99 for a 12 of cans. BUT, 6.49 for a 12 of Genesee Cream Ale. shit is GOOD. serious. Two of 'em never even made it into the fridge. Watch- Kittens prefer it two to one.

I don't know who wins the thread, but I know darn sure who lost it...anybody who claims that Genny Cream Ale is good for anything but an emetic better hop in his K-car and get the heck out of Beerville.

Feel free to put one up on the stage at the next Beatdowns or CPS show, and maybe I'll change my mind.

Actually, that goes for any beer you folks want me to try. I'm a giver.

One of these days I'm going to get around to drinking a Chimay Red, White, and Blue (in that order) in one sitting. Fourth of July weekend would have been the perfect time but I missed my chance. I've already nicknamed this feat the "Ollie North trio".
