johnnie walker green label. 15-year-old vatted scotch. powerful, earthy body with great aroma, not too smoky.

lately Kessler's & 7. I could definitely be a beer snob, maybe even a wine snob, but I don't think I'll ever be a whiskey snob. I never liked drinking it straight.

I know I'm way late to the game here, but seriously, where has this been all my life?

I had a few Alaskan Smoked Porters this past week in Denver. It is very smokey, so much so that it smells a little like a BBQ pit, but the flavor mixes nicely with the porter. It's not sold in Ohio but if you can get it I recommend checking it out.

that shit is smoother than the price would have you believe . . .

It's pretty good. They had it on draft at bodega and a few others for awhile. One of those you can buy the big bottles of at Giant Eagle. It's just what you'd expect, real hoppy. Compare to Founders Red Rye or maybe even Stone IPA.

I had Image

Last night. It was pretty damn good. Guess it's the same guy who did the recipes for Chimay. Reminded me a lot of Chimay's Grande Reserve but for almost half the price. Has that real oak/earthen taste. Like a root beer.

I also got a 4 pack of Image
This stuff is sooo heavy. Really a meal in a bottle. it's just what it says it is: Double chocolate, coffee, oatmeal stout. They have 2 boxes left at Palmers and then it's gone. I'd suggest getting some. They also age the Breakfast stout for a year in bourbon barrels and release that brew as Kentucky Breakfast Stout. I haven't had it, but it supposedly tops.

I would agree with your assessment. But I didn't know if it was kosher to compare it to another beer from the same brewer.

hehe, good point.

tonight i had their Racer 5 IPA, which i wouldn't compare to Red Rocket or Hop Rod Rye but might compare to Stone IPA. i also had barrel-aged Ballast Point Piper Down Scottish Ale, Alpine Duet IPA, Alpine Boris barrel aged imperial stout, Russian River Blind Pig, Stone Levitation, Alesmith Winter Yulesmith and Stone Pale Ale. gotta love the 10-oz pours for variety's sake.

tomorrow i hope to celebrate an osu win with one of the two bottles of Firestone Walker 12th Anniversary that mrs riko snagged yesterday.

I'm not drinking anymore but here is what I just puked up (not in any particular order):

2 boddington's, 2 sparks, 1.5 newcastles (spilled .5), 2 or 3 miller lights + tons of tailgate food

I have never heard of anyone mixing Kessler with anything, well other than myself mixing it with assorted cuss words when I wake the next morning.

I will have to give that a try.

I'm hooked on Great Lakes Christmas Ale. I'm pretty sure I've never had a better beer in my life. It's amazing stuff.

Is this worthwhile? I have to admit I'm curious. The Vodka & Tonic is one of the most perfect things in existence and if you can improve upon it kudos to you sir.
