You're right DeVille, it IS a comedy. But to me, the show's funniest moments have always been of the satirical variety, and not the screwball antics on display in the premiere. Maybe "dumbing down" was too harsh; screwball comedy when executed well is just as good, if not better, than highfalutin' satire. And come to think of it, there was some really well-done goofball humor in the first two seasons. But the banter between Andy and the bounty hunter, and the craptastic car scenes involving Nancy and U-Turn's wingman were overwrought and painfully unfunny. But whatever, just one guy's opinion... |
