yes they do and i would volunteer, but i don't think it is a SQL error, i think it is php error...and i know nothing about php.

i do have a firm grasp on SQL

my father-in-law knows a bit about SQL and php. here's the e-mail he sent to me when i asked him to check out the problem ...

I did a quick web search and found that this error can occur when the MySQL database is corrupted. A suggested repair is to run the following:
Go to PhpMyAdmin (most web-sites have this)
Go to the SQL tab.
Enter the command: REPAIR TABLE phpbb_ausers

hope that works.

what's wrong with the DB? i don't see any errors right now.

i have a fair amount of experience with both, i'd be happy to take a look.

yeah,
the general consensus fix among various forum users (i see you guys are running phpBB) is the one that chip's father-in-law suggested.

if you tried that and it still isn't working, i would suggest contacting the hosting company, as it *does seem to be a DB error and not anything you did.

Thanks for your help. We Frogglez appreciate it.

I have been ridiculously busy since this thing broke, but after this weekend my schedule will ease up some and I will call the hosting company to figure out what's up our ass.

(I tried the "repair table" and it didn't work--I got another error).

But thanks again folks.
