I feel you... I wanna go but it's a bit too much $$$. Although I DID spend almost as much on my White Stripes ticket. Beck puts on an amazing show. I also wanna see The Black Keys.

Did anyone see Beck a few years ago @ Vets during Midnight Vultures tour? It was the shit...

I was at the Beck show for Midnight Vultures and it was the shit.

Y'all are in for a good show tonight. Word is, he is touring with the entire band. Keep your eyes on the drummer, Joey Waronker (R.E.M., Remy Zero, among others). He and the bass player are really fun to watch. Wish I could be there.

I spent all my cash on going to see good music this month.

Black Keys: At first I thought it was great. Real cool that it was just two guys. The sound was huge and the drums just got inside you. But after about 3 songs it all sounded the same.

DC: I thought it was lame. Uninteresting really to me.

Beck: That is why I was there. I think he is fantastic. I think the show was perfect. He got everybody going by playing all his old, familiar, rocking tunes and then essentially gave us a set of his slow mellow songs. Older tunes. Then he moved into Sea Changes and more rocking tunes. I think the crowd went wild.

I thought the set itself and the way it moved from rocking, mellow, and rockin again was great.

Sea changes is my least favorite record BTW. Odelay is well worth having.

I too felt pretty old, lots of 14-18 year olds. I can't help but feel sorry for those kids. I couldn't imagine having high school, college and all the years after still ahead of me. But then again to be 14 and seeing Beck would have been pretty cool.

There were also a suprising # of familiar faces.

I say it was a real fun night. I love that music that just gets everyone dancing. I'm a sucker.
