good for him, a lot of people dig that place but the slow(ish) dissent from dive to dump kept many away definitely interested in seeing the renovations best of luck |

Ryan said there will be all new cables, mics, stands, etc., but yeah, the main guts and DIY setup will remain. I've talked to quite a few bands who actually prefer having control of the PA and not having the sound-guy overhead/hassle. But yeah, I can see the other side. That setup isn't for everyone. |

A big PA here would be as useless as tits on a bull. Now a toilet that I could take a shit in without half the bar staring at me would be welcome. |

Yeah I actually always kind of liked the sound in there... It's kind of like band practice. It's a struggle for drummers to play quiet enough for the room sometimes... but I've still had some of my best shows ever there. |

the p.a. thing is definitely going to remain the way it is. the room will be nicer to see shows in, though. the tree isn't blocking half the room's view, and it doesn't smell like mildew in there anymore. i think a new p.a. would've been a waste, because that room's not really big enough to warrant having one. don't all you guys have 100 watt marshalls anyway? don't you relish the thought of playing somewhere where there's no sound guy telling you to turn it down? not saying you shouldn't turn down... just saying now there's no one to tell you to. |

My liver wants to say, "Thanks for the hiatus, gang". She's a little nervous but still excited about the reopening. Poor ol' girl. |

I have this Friday off. This gives me at least 3 major goals: 1. Don't get arrested before getting to the Treebar 2. Don't piss my pants until I have passed out for a few hours 3. Heckle at least one band. 4. Ask what the fuck happened to the Tree, who is the new owner and can I speak to him now 400 or 500 times. 5. Hump the Tree Stump 6. Spread joyous Christmas cheer. HO! HO! HO! 7. Tip Quinn and Joe. I probably owe them $400. |
