Shit, i think you should just get on a bill with another local band and cover their entire set before they go on. You could only do it once, but it'd be hilarious*. *"hilarious" being completely open to interpretation, of course |

And as distasteful as it is for me to mention it, eventually, someone in your band is going to start wondering about $, and if you're not playing for charity as someone sensibly suggested at the outset of this thread, some of the original artists might start wondering about it too. |

Worrying about money would certainly be jumping the gun. Original bands don't make shit, and neither would a band that covered other local bands. Anyone who wants to make money should go play some real cover tunes. It doesn't much matter anyway, as a project like this will most likely never take flight. What I would like to see, however, is for local groups to cover each other more often. I think it would be a good thing for the local scene. What better way to show your interest and respect for someone else's songwriting than to play the songs yourself? Ultimately, I don't know what the hell I'm doing, or why I do what I do. I just do stuff. This is my most recent thing. I'm sure I'll go back to writing songs about boobs and whiskey soon enough. |

Ah yes. I forgot about the pilot series idea of following bands on tour, showing up unannounced with your bands fliers, demanding that you are legitmately on the bill and can prove it, generally acting as if it were a battle of the bands and then playing the headliners entire set. Banned on The Run. CAN'T WAIT! |
