I know comfest puts up an application on their site but what other shows are going on in 2013 and how do you apply? INDEPENDENTS DAY, Urban Scrawl, Parking Lot Blowout?

I've applied to Independents Day a couple times, they usually have some kind of info/app site up eventually, and offered up help in any way they needed me but never heard anything back ever... same with Hot Times.
Parking Lot Blowout was/is run by Cbus Music Co-op and I recently heard that they had folded from a pretty good source. Their site looks like it hasn't been updated in a while...
My band has had better luck getting into bigger regional festivals than local ones.
Seems like the same bands year after year.
I still love Indy Day and Hot Times, tho.

we've not folded. but we have been on a break as we transitioned through giant organizational/life stuff.

we'll be coming out of our hibernation soon.

I, too, never got any response to emails (for months), and saw that the website hadn't been updated in months so I started asking around a while back.
The responses I got were all along the lines of that CMC probably went under, and that they hadn't helped more than (possibly less than) a handful of people in the organizations existence. Mostly close friends.

After the response above I noticed that there is/was some connection to Wonderland and started "wondering" what happened to the money from the numerous fundraisers and public grants...

I'm tired of the Cbus "creative class" making nonprofit a bad word.
If you're doing it to help people then good on ya, but it's hard work and you are going to have to sacrifice for years to make it work right. Otherwise, bow out, donate what cash you made to a bigger, established charity and move on to your next pet project.
If you're doing it for pride, popularity, or just to keep the cash yourself, then shame on you.

I dont' know exactly whats up with CMC, but definitely smells fishy, and the word on the street is that I ain't the only one what thinks so...
This shit is embarrassing for all of Cbus.

It will be interesting to see if there is a reply to this before the board leaves us for good. As someone who personally donated, Im especially interested.
