I think the "issue" is that these bands generally suck, and they look like a bunch of naive corncobs. Thus, they make "Columbus" look like a bunch of naive corncobs.

Didn't someone bring this up earlier in the thread?....the whole endeavor might have been taken more seriously if the bands involved were actually actively booking shows outside of Columbus in the first place.

If they even played somewhat adventurous local shows, if they often hosted no name out of towns coming through town, if they didn't cling so painfully to the subsection of the city that goes to their shows but knows two songs on their album...I think the perception would be much more positive.
