In 20 years of drinking in Columbus I've never had a bar accidentally run my card. Can I get a refund? It's been a few weeks.

Sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes, the bar, well, it eats you.

Some bars are better than others, I guess. George Jones would trash that place. They also told Eddie Spaghetti he wasn't getting his guarantee because he played a bunch of covers. Haha you gotta be fucking kidding me. Classy and completely ethical. That bar can suck it.

well, he did get his guarantee...ron also gave him the cd he bought back and didn't even ask for his money back, so i guess you could say chef boyardee came out on top...

i personally didn't really enjoy his set. if someone from a "well regarded band" from yesteryear is playing shows based on the good faith of his past work, one would generally expect to not be watching a one man acoustic cover band.

Have you kept in contact with the bar or maybe tried something that an adult might do?

. Never heard back So now I'm refusing to follow up on the grounds that Ron lacks artistic merit. I did not realize that Ron acquiesced. Unless the setlist affected attendance why make the fuss?

Can't blame a guy for hating anyone associated with the Supersuckers or solo artists who travel by PT Cruiser

Haha. That is effed up. They profiled Tony Bologna the same way. They buy coke on my tab because I'm weird, old and gay. That's just how it goes.

Also, no sympathy for any one with the last name "Spaghetti". Never.

True. I also wouldn't anonymously call the fire marshall on other bars or book people I can't stand with names like Spaghetti and then give them shi$ for playing a set I wasn't expecting and go on a rant about not paying them. The staff has always been nothing but kind and accommodating but I don't think there's any fix for thee Carebear and that's what makes my recent experience fitting. I think there's a reason it hasn't happened anywhere else.

Based on a description of the new record, one would have expected a number of covers?:

"An interesting selection of covers including Bob Dylan's "Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You", Nick Lowe's "Without Love", AC/DC's "Carry Me Home", The Coasters "Hey Sexy", Tom Waits "I Don't Wanna Grow Up", Willie Nelson's "Everywhere I Go" to Aerosmith's "Sick As A Dog" performed by Quattro- Rockin' out, son of the Spaghetti's. Plus 4 Eddie originals."

Boo-ing Dylan at the Newport Folk Festival, even trying to unplug him got a lot of justification by a$$-backward pretentious simpletons in 1965. He was a well regarded folk artist booked on the good faith of his past work and it was generally expected that he would be playing a folk set.

Eddie's no Dylan but that's clearly not the point. I don't know much about Eddie or The Supersuckers but there's no shame in calling out bad business and shi$$y owners when you see them.

Seems to me like you are are baby dicking on here about your card getting run because you have something personal against Ron.

I bartended there for years and ran a card on accident once. It happens.

Call the bank. Call the bar.

Well - given that its a public forum - has carabar been given the opportunity to address your complaints in the forum? (Maybe they have, i don't know who is who here).

Maybe someone should call them and tell them that there is a fight on the internet.

i'm just recalling the Espresso-yourself/comfest hubub of this past year. I think it was expressed back then that, although it was appropriate to criticize EY, it also seemed objectionable to carry on in a way that might affect their business, without allowing them to respond (which they did) - but i imagine this case isn't entirely different, in relevant respects.

Clearly not a banking question and of course it is likely just coincidence, but, came as no surprise considering the lack of ethics there. As an experienced alcoholic who has known many bar owners, bar employees and club promoters I can tell you this is not a George Jones approved bar. I can also say with confidence that what I have to say about the bar won't affect their business nor how they run business.

I brought the credit card thing up to Ron last time I was in there.
He said that you never went in and brought this to his attention.
Ron told me that if you come in, and explain your issue then he will be more than happy to refund your money.

Besides that, who did Carabar call the Fire Marshall on?
