hehe, no. i might actually go check it out though - i\'ve seen marvin\'s (is that his actual name?) stuff online already, and it was enjoyable, but its always interesting to see how things look live.

by all means make a post too. i actually don\'t have anything against self-promotion on donewaiting. i just don\'t like surprise tupperware parties, if you catch my drift - that and i\'ve been facebook slammed a lot lately with promotions. i\'ve heard people complain about just tuning stuff out b/c of the facebook promotion dogpile.

you guys don\'t even get paid a small freelance fee or anything for anything that you write for the Other paper, Columbus Alive or the others? if not, oops about that specific suggestion.

Just saying it's laughable, that's all. No one is freelancing for weekly papers for the money.

And DW staffers get paid in the occasional free concert ticket or album (or kirk's tricked-out laptop).

But yeah, like you, I'm always curious to hear what local bands people are enjoying.

super stoked for all the records from columbus bands in 2011- cheater slicks 2xlive lp (just got the track listing from UNCLE TOM as i am helping w/ some of the art), guinea worms, tnv, el jesus de magico ( best shit ive heard them do/mix i heard sounds perfect), psandwich.
bet there will be some more human boys and vile gash recordings to come...

also, a lot of people talk about what records and other things (sports, favorite serial killers) outside of message boards in the real world, so if you dont see something typed out don't be discouraged

Basically everything that came out on CDR in 2010 has been worth getting(i.e. wearing out my Guinea Worms records), plus the Day Creeper 7" on TTT, also the Ragtime Hors tape from El Jesus(which I am now 1 release away from owning the entire El Jesus discog), the Outer Spacist tape and probably some other tapess that elude me right now.

Also, not messing with Myspace in 2011.


Shows- I saw a ton and drank a ton. Ask for my recollections some other time. Seems I saw Day Creeper 20 x this year(not kidding), Outer Spacist shows I quit counting, G Worms, Slicks and UH2 probably 8 each or so. Maybe a handful of Horseshit.

Dude Locker II was my favorite show this year, to watch, to participate in as a band, and to take photos of all the shenanigans. Hope they do it again this year. It was incredible.

I missed the Fat Girls By the Snack Table reunion and I'm still sad about it.

Lo Pan, 1point3, Bastards, Miller Kelton, Survivalist, Bucktown Kickback, Savage Pinkos, and Evil Fonzie were my favorites to watch this year. Here's a shameless plug for my band Russian Business Network, since everyone's doing it.

That Six Gallery video shoot/show at Tompkins Warehouse was pretty awesome/out of the norm. That was early 2010. The album is idiotically great, but came out in 2009.
