Independents' Day 2010 band line-up

This lineup does have some over lap for sure. But also plenty of bands that have not done the festivals this year.

Compressions
Sleepers awake
Way yes
Ease the medic
All eyes path

Just to name a few that came to mind.

Also, it makes me so proud to live in a city that is supportive of its music, food and art scene. I will gladly take all the festivals we can during the summer

I dunno. If you're getting sick of festivals you might just be getting old. I don't know too many people who are sick of live music, food and beer yet but I understand that some of the older folks are getting a little fed up with the Wednesday night Bingo game.

I'm with you on the same people, same booths, same bands thing.

But I'm looking forward to this one for a few reasons.

• One, I do think there are a good amount of bands playing this one who haven't played festivals all summer. (my own being one of them)

• Two, the setting of this one is way cooler and far more 'Columbus-y' than some of the others. I mean, it's downtown. Finally, something actually city-centric.

• Three, Um...there are four stages. And none of them seem to feature aging hippies. You can probably find something you're into.

I think the thing I'd like to see most, is a beer sponsorship that isn't PBR. Not sure if it's the image, or the profit margin of featuring a 'value-beer' but it's certainly not helping with any redundancy.

It's a dang shame that PBR bought out all of the other sponsors. Someone needs to break up the monopoly; one of the biggest marketing scams of my generation and yet I still drink it because it's the cheapest thing on the menu and still tastes kind of like beer. It's not just your Grandpa's cheap crappy beer anymore. It's yours!
