If you buy a ticket at the LC box office, does it bypass all the convenience fees?

I'd be okay with Ticketmaster if they had a standard rate for providing a service. but no, they increase their prices depending on the show. There's no reason for that.

They provide the same service for a $20 CD101 show as they do for a $200 Elton John show. It's the equivalent to Gas Stations increasing their prices just because you're filling up a Ferarri.

Ticketmaster fees are a convenience charge. You are paying for the convenience of not having to drive to the venue to buy tickets.

Personally, I wouldn't mind the fees as much if they were secretly added into the price of the ticket. $40 for a ticket seems better to me than $30 for a ticket plus $10 in fees. When you buy a loaf of bread, all the costs involved aren't broken down on the receipt.

What if you're buying 4 tickets? Let's say you live in Coshocton or New Philadelphia or Mentor or etc etc etc. You're not gonna drive to the venue to buy tickets. So, yeah, a convenience charge makes sense. But maybe $10 on the whole ticket order, not $10 per ticket.

Don't let promoters off the hook. Before they merged with TM, Clear Channel (and other large promoters) got part of the service fee back as a rebate, which is part of the reason they are so high. Not saying PromoWest does just saying many others do.
