Honestly curious to see what ideas people have as to how this task could be accomplished....online voting, just pick 'em, same as now don't change a thing, pull names from a hat?

I like all of these ideas.

Having a curator for each stage does seem like the best way to go. This would give the comfest committee the opportunity to honor a few local musicians each year, and give us someone to blame if the stage sucks. We would still have internet fights over who got to curate, but I think it might promote more cohesion and reverence for Columbus music past to present. Each clique getting their hero or villain for the year would be fun. Seems to work for ATP.

I propose a "Guest DJ" lottery, wherein 15ish people are selected randomly from a pool of applicants. Each winner will be assigned a few stage slots to fill (maybe their picks would be scattered over several stages, maybe 2 people would be in charge of one stage, whatever). No genre guidelines (except, of course, for Jazz and Live Arts). It may not yield the "best" quality, but I think it'd be exciting as all hell.

What's a Comfest?

There ya go, begin with whatever bands Dan Bandman and Sean Gardner are playing in....after that there will only be 5-6 slots left to fill for the weekend...

We should turn the park into a massive Oujia board the weekend before, and let the ghosts of Daymon Dodson and Jerry Wick do all the work.

I'd like any suggestions from this board on some bands that you would like to see this year......on which stage? What makes them a good pick? I've seen about 25 bands over the past couple of months, and there is a LOT of talent in cbus.

Just replace all the stages with rock-climbing walls, whore houses and day care centers. Problem solved
