Everyone loved this oven when we had it in our warehouse loft. It's a great piece.

We are only selling this awesome oven because we are buying a home that does not have gas and we don't want to convert it to electric, if it's even possible.

I never gave it a super badass cleaning so it can look even better than it does.

The good:

-1950's era white Tappan gas oven with red <b>bakalite</b> knobs which are all original & in great shape. The oven's exterior is in good shape overall, no major rust or damage, still shines.

-4 burner stove top with oven.

-Working timer & light (interior and exterior lights).

-Very cool informational dial helps the cook know how long & at what temperature to cook various dishes such as "fish loaf" and other period meals.

-Two burner covers slide down into oven during use.

-2 storage compartments on each side of oven door.

Issues:

-May have gas leak but I used this oven for a year with no problems. At least two burners work but they all have a little rust that can probably be cleaned off to facilitate the flame.

-Some rust inside the storage compartments & oven.

-Missing surface light cover.

-One of the burner covers has become detatched at the hinge.

ALL OF THESE ISSUES CAN BE SOLVED WITH A LITTLE TIME & LOVE!

I'm jumpin' on your thread KT...

I've got the same dilemma (and nearly the same Tappan oven). We're moving, and I can't take my 40's/50's oven with me. I'm a little distraught, because I love this oven; it was actually the reason we fell in love with our house.

The set up is almost identical (mine doesn't have range covers, the knobs aren't red like KT's and there's no wicked cool "fish loaf" dial). I assume the measurement's for this stove/oven will be the same for KellyT@yalor's. It's 40" wide, 29" from back to tip of knobs, and 46.5" to the highest point (the range is 36.5" high).

There's pan storage on either side and a broiler drawer on the bottom. It's like having an extra counter top with all that realestate between the burners.

No leaks. Oven is manual light (with a match- it's got a little hole at the front of the oven where you light it).
