Are there any essential components to an indie song? I'm thinking only strum(flog) the guitar, no solos. Try to be ironic and underenthused. Lot's of 8th notes and little sycopation. The bass line should be able to be taught to a monkey. Am I missing anything?

Also, I kind of want to make this an ode to our city and encourage other bands to cover it, so any lyrical ideas would be appreciated. Hopefully, with you help, I can knock this out tonight!

Take an existing song and lift the melody. Then imitate the arrangement and change the lyrics to be about food.
