One more thing, the Entertainment Committee meetings are open to anyone up until we actually start selection. I strongly encourage new members. Next meeting is March 2nd, at the shelterhouse in Goodale Park at 7:30. If anyone is interested in joining this, or any other committee, please let me know and I will get you appropriate contact information. We really need new Safety, Clean Up and Recycling, Volunteer Recruitment members. Media could use a few too, I think. Thanks. |

Raise your hand if you hadn't heard the Cowbilly Hippy Band (several comittee members I heard) are booking "Comfest Showcases" at Vics. Vics IS the new comfest hq right? Thats OK, I see you aren't wearing your sock puppet.  At least those shows are paying gigs. How many meetings do I have to go to to pimp my favorite bar Red Rabbit? On second thought. It should be no suprise that there will be some cross over between promoters and comfest. Some people have been around a long time and columbus is a small town. Sucking up to Mark and playing some particular bars are all part of the game. So not such a big deal. But this expresso yourself thing breaks new ground. Come fill my failing bar and donate your time? In Powell even. COME ON. SEROIUSLY New or not that should be basic common sense. Even I would not do something that dumb. Putting away the pitchfork and torch and going home. I was hoping for a good old fashoned witch burning though. Maybe I will wear my sockpuppet for a while longer. I kind of like it. |

as somebody who has been involved in almost every aspect of comfest over the past 15 years (vendor, volunteer, performer, emcee, etc) there isn't a single line in that e-mail that ISN'T fucking offensive. pulling him off committee & telling old boy "maybe next year" really would be the best way to save face. that shit's just tacky in every way possible. and it IS going to be fodder for those who feel comfest is all "who you know" |
