Band A charges $600 to play. Band B charges $350 plus $.125 for each ticket. -Write a linear equation for the cost of each band -Graph each equation and find the number of tickets for which the cost of the two bands would be equal. Band B needs to sell 2000 tickets for the cost to be equal to band A. Band C and Band D didn't go see them, because they couldn't afford the tickets. They went to a bar and drank all night, anyway, though, because there wasn't a cover charge at Bar B. |

I think there's an important thing being dismissed here (maybe - I admit I started skimming a lot of this shit). One nice thing about no cover is that people are more likely to check out a band they have not heard yet. Sure, I'll pay $5+ to see a band I love, but will I pay $5 to see a band I've never heard of? Doubt it. I do sometimes, but most people don't. And I have to say, I'm seen some killer bands/musicians on a whim walking into some free show, and usually ended up buying a disc instead, therefore giving them more than the door cover would have been. |
