i'm glad i saw him a few years ago, and it is cool to be able to say that i stood in the same room as bob dylan...one of my favorite singers/songwriters.

BUT i was definitely not blown away by the performance that night. i appreciate bob dylan's deal that he never does what is expected of him, and always does what he wants. he definitely had dignity in what he was doing, and didn't seem like an over the hill rockstar still clinging onto what he did all those years ago. but it wasn't an engaging performance in my opinion, and there were so many times when 1/2 way into the song i'd be like "oh this is its alright ma i'm only bleeding(or whatever song it was at the time)." Since he doesn't really sing anymore it's hard to understand what he is saying, and he has completely rearranged all the songs, so it was hard to recognize all those songs i've been obsessed with for years, so i wasn't as engaged in his performance as i had hoped.

the performance didn't change my opinion of dylan at all, but it definitely didn't live up to the performances i've seen from don't look back, the last waltz, and no direction home. maybe the problem was going in with expectations...
