Heard this one last night. And that certain departed writers from one local art rag would be soon using their talents at an(other) paper.

There may be no creedence to this, it may be as realistic as Pitchfork buying out Donewaiting.com! Just wanted to throw it out and see if anybody heard anything else.

Actually, that's not unplausible, as the Voice was acquired last year by New Times Media, a large publisher of "Alt. Weeklies" that has been busy with similar acquisitions:

The economics of newspaper publishing (all media, really) are really in a state of upheaval at the moment. Consolidations/contractions in certain areas, and de-consolidation/spin-offs/sell-offs in other areas.
