Scott Miller is opening for Big Sandy. I'm not as familiar with Big Sandy and His Fly right Boys, however, Miller is quite amazing. He was one of the co-frontmen of The V-Roys, and has just released his 2nd solo record. His 1st was the perfect blend of americana pop rock. He can strip everything down to material that sounds like a traditional civil war era ballad, and then kick you in the ass with a twangin' rocker.
Ther are 2 reasons that I am so jazzed about this show:
1.) I never got to see the V-Roys when they played LB's & Stache's
2.) We are all quick to bitch about good shows coming to town. Dan Dougan has been putting together a hell of a summer, and the club needs the support. Last Thursday for the Sam Roberts show, no one there. Low turnouts will drain any possibility, of a similar level bands.
That's enough of a rant.
