Thursday May 20 at The Double Door Thunderwing Woolworthy Cordy Paper Bullets DJ Tankboy Vs. tankPOD Doors 8pm Show 9pm $7 cover/$5 with comp tix Let's see, Thunderwing have a sort of Detroit-Rock-City vibe about them. Kinda scruffy but lots of AC/DC type riffing with catchy melodies. Woolworthy are one of the best rock bands in the city in the vein of The replacements or something like that. Cordy has ex-members of veruca Salt, Ministry and Acumen Nation playing shoegazer pop like My Bloody Valentine and their ilk. Paper Bullets is a swaggering garage three-piece led by local scenester Traci Trouble. DJ Tankboy Vs. tankPOD would be me versus my iPod.
