You guessed it: Paul Flaherty & Chris Corsano hit the BLD to lay down some incredible saxophone & drum duets. Meanest band you've ever heard with no electricity. The Free Jazz Lightning Bolt. Corsano is one of the sickest drummers alive. When not driving around doing shows as a duo, these two are also one half of the Dream/Action Unit with Thurston Moore and Jim O'Rourke. Horns & drums not your thing? Half as skilled and a fourth as loud, the dulcimer/addordian/glockenspiel trio (no, that's not a joke) of Brian Harnetty, Rich Housh & Mike Shiflet are opening the show with a performance of Brian's composition "Non-flowering Plants" (I'm pretty sure that's the title). Minimalism: the emo of the experimental music world. BLD Warehouse Wednesday, May 5 9pm. Outside if the weather will allow it. Three measly dollars. byob. |

Chris Corsano is the sort that changes how you look at the instrument from this point forward. he was a machine of spazz rhythms, totally engrossing. |
