The Damnells sounded great tonight. They have slowly but surely become a personal favorite. The hooks are subtle, but they grow on you with each listen. Those are the best kind, right?

Other good news: CBC Nut Brown is back on tap at Little Bros. Can I get a fucking 'hell jeah' in this piece?

And, Duffy, F.O.R. and I agreed that Blue October is actually not that distant a cousin of The Frames, much to my surprise, at least the first couple songs of their set had a certain Frames feel to them.

Right. The first coupla songs reminded me of The Frames, especially the intonation of the vox. But then it all fell apart when they started getting heavy and screaming. Nothing ruins a mellow rock show like a Paul Reed Smith.
