I've seen Katie Wolf at some Shucking Bubba Deluxe shows.

Chris, besides yourself how many of the Alive staff actually attend local shows?

Actually, several of the people who helped pick the bands go to shows pretty regularly. I would have preferred to just pick the bands all myself, but the other staffers weren't ignorant on the subject.

I can't argue with the first three choices. I don't know enough about the rap/hip-hop scene in Columbus to comment on the other two selections.

Thank you for not picking any of the myriad atonal/noisy/garbage bands that populate the city.

I know right? noise rock, meh.

oh wait,
I have been in a myrid of atonal/noisy/ garbage bands for ever now...
1989-1993 My Uncle Wayne (massillon version (atonal noisy folk rock))
1993-1996 My Uncle Wayne (durham,N.C.version(atonal noisy garbage))
!996-1999 My Uncle Wayne (columbus version (just garbage))
2000-2000 My Un*Kill Wayne. (heavier atonal garbage))
2000-2001 HATCHLINGS (PDX (garage garbage)
2002-present Childish Freaks (solo atonal banshee moans)
2003-2007 The United Snakes (earnest garbage noisytoo)
2007-2011 AS*US (the altered states of the united snakes)
2011-2013 AS*US (PAGAN TIGER SWING BAND) *new and improved version(minus a derwint add a adam smith)
2014: breakup/ down time
2015: reunion

um, so yeah, i didn't realize a band to watch was supposed to be a NEW band. fuck if thats the only criteria, it's like fishing in yr. own bathtub.

speaking of bathtubs>>>does anyone remember BATH HOUSE. now that, had they stayed together, would have been a band to watch.

never expected a band that i jammed with once would make this list but i guess miracles do happen

do u you guys want me to stop in and do a session during the encorE? my band is playing 1/22 somewhere else but i think i have a middle slot open. hit me up on gchat and we can work out the rest

speaking of shuckin bubba deluxe the girl in that band really knows what is up if you know what i am talking about

i would not watch any of these bands if you paid me
hahaahaahahahahahha

stupid

anyway deville
seriously what is up with your life
pull it together
i cant believe this list. none of these bands can get a gig at carabar now because ron will ban them all instantly after he reads this if he remembers how to read

what is the cut off point of this bands to watch
surely we have watched them all

the watch is in my pants
and it is counting down
to eternity

people who are mad about the list like wumber wenders is actually funnier than the list itself
dont worry dude you will make the 2012 list
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
can i get a witness on that statement

trent reznor would never produce any of these bands even if you paid him a million bucks. cleveland boy just won himself a golden globe for the social network.

speaking of facebook

i liked this message board on facebook and it gave me herpes
and yeah i gave it to four other girls.

seriously everyone who works at the alive are republicans

i dont know i am getting too old for this. thank the lord up above i still have my three bands i play in.

best of luck to everyone involved. i gotta go stalk some ladies on facebook.

trying to learn the trumpet this year?

Earnest is okay in my book.

I like the description in that blog. I wouldn't mind time-traveling to see a My Uncle Wayne gig.

"Vulture of Yr Culture" is a good song. For real. Maybe I moved to Columbus ten years too late? :?
