Slint - Tweez

Local H - The No Fun EP

ummmm, i owe chip a 1st born child or something for picking this up and mailing it to me. jebus this is great. i forgot how much i missed new Local H and this gem is topped off with covers of The Ramones' "I Just Want Something To Do" and The Godfathers' "Birth, School, Work, Death."

Faustoid suggested a few things to me this week that I'm finally starting to check out. Right now I'm listening to:

The Hidden Cameras - The Smell of Our Own
Not sure where this paragraph was lifted from but it describes the music: 'The Smell Of Our Own' is the remarkable debut album from self-professed Canadian gay church folk collective, The Hidden Cameras. Mixing lilting organ-accented melodies with perverse yet intelligent lyrics, The 'Cameras meld multi-part harmonies (a la christian hymns) with Phil Spector-esque walls of sound, half nodding to Belle & Sebastian and Magnetic Fields along the way.'..it begs the question: is it ever possible to to fully describe the world of the Hidden Cameras? Perhaps not, but two things are certain. They're clearly not of this world, but you should gladly let them into yours'
