yeah, it's great. their first one, "automatic midnight" is killer too.
also check out drive like jehu (rick and john's band before hot snakes), which, imho, is one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

i find there's something too-similar about all the songs, though. i'm not sure what it is. i know the songs are different in ways, but they sound so much alike to me. i have the same problem with RFTC and Drive Like Jehu. it's the tempo or the tone of the guitars.
nevertheless, it's some seriously rocking stuff.

i've heard and discounted rftc for the very reasons you've stated above but the same doesn't hold true for the hot snakes disc for me. i'll check out the first one. thanks for the tip. i don't remember hearing dlj but i'll find something 'cause i dig this crazy beat.
