Well, this was another one of those very favorably talked-about bands that I'd been meaning to check out and just hadn't gotten around to it yet. Too much time & money, not enough music. Wait, strike that, reverse it.
So I saw Spoon on Austin City Limits last night. It's very very rare that a band big enough to be on ACL is one I don't recognize... but these guys slipped past the standard. I dug the stuff so much, I felt so inclined to go out and buy their most recent album today. Hoo-rah! Money well spent, I say. I advise you kind folks to take heed and all go do the same. [Jump, little lemmings, jump!]
Hee... really, you won't regret it.

I agree.. kill the moonlight is hot but Girls Can Tell is a masterpiece. It's a truly flawless record. Also keep your eye open for A Series of Sneaks. it's their major label record... I think it came out on Epic in 98. I believe the story is that they were dropped by Epic the week after it was released..... lucky for us they picked themselves back up and put out to great records on Merge.
